SEO is a complicated, ever-changing beast.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the different SEO tactics you need to learn and use. But if you know what your competitors are doing, how they rank in their niche, and how to improve your site’s rankings in search engines like Google and Bing then you can start moving up the ladder of success with SEO!

See your company’s software or service as a piece of content. In other words, your software is an article you’re trying to get people to read and take action on.

If you’re selling a software application for example, then your product should be viewed as a written e-book with lots of benefits for the reader in return for their money.

In this blog post, we will go over some of the most effective ways you can sell your software as a SaaS and boost your SEO in the process.

Nevertheless, there are still ways to optimize your SEO when you have a SaaS company, even if it’s not something you enjoy doing as much. Let’s take a look at some of these ways.

1. Research your keywords.

Keyword research is a crucial part of SEO. It helps you understand your target audience and what they’re looking for, which will help you create a content strategy that resonates with them.

You can use tools like Google Keyword Planner and SEMrush to find keywords related to your business and industry, but there are other ways too:

Talk to customers about their problems or needs — This is one of the best ways to get insight into what makes people tick. If someone asks you for help with something online (like Facebook), ask them how they found out about it in the first place — What did they type into Google? What was said in the conversation? Are there any other ways someone might have found this solution? Do they have any specific concerns when it comes time to buy something new related specifically to what’s been mentioned previously during this conversation; anything else relevant would be beneficial too!

2. Choose the right URL structure.

Use a consistent structure for all pages, so that visitors can easily find and navigate through your website. Make it easy to remember by using the same structure for each page within the site. This will help you get better rankings in search results, as well as make it easier for users to find what they’re looking for on your site. Choose a structure that makes sense to humans instead of computers (this is important).

3. Create ample content around your target keywords.

Content is king.

Content is what your customers want to read, and Google wants to see it. If you don’t have the right content on your website, then your competition will have a much easier time getting their message across. To get started writing content that’s on par with other similar companies in your industry, here are some things to keep in mind:

a. The goal of any piece of content should be about providing value for the reader/user; not just informing them or showing off how smart you are (although those can be nice bonuses!). It should also answer questions they might have about what it is that you do or offer as well as provide information about why people should choose what you offer over something else out there (i.e., if someone asks for recommendations).

b. Write from a first-person perspective when possible — your voice represents who “you” are as an organization; so if someone reads something written by one person at another company saying “we sell widgets,” they’d probably think twice before buying anything from them! Also try not using third person pronouns like “he/she” etcetera too often since most readers don’t understand what those mean anyway.

5. Optimize for technical SEO:

If you want to be successful in search engines, you need to make sure that your site is well-coded and loads quickly. The first step is choosing a good theme that has all of the features needed. This can include things like SEO optimization, which will help improve rankings on search engines as well as mobile devices. You also want to ensure that your site is secure by installing SSL certificates and other security measures like robots’ exclusion rules (or RIRs).

When it comes down to it, none of this matters if people don’t find the information they need when they visit your website — so make sure there are no broken links or 404 errors!

6. Make sure your site is mobile-friendly:

If you haven’t already, it’s time to check your website on a mobile device. You’ll want to make sure that users can easily navigate the site and find what they’re looking for. Also make sure that the content is easy to read, as well as fast loading — and don’t forget about responsiveness! A responsive design means that when someone opens up their phone or tablet (or whatever other device they use), everything will look good without any extra work on their part; it automatically adjusts itself based on how big or small each screen is by simply resizing itself accordingly. You could also consider using templates specifically designed for each platform out there: iOS has its own style guide while Android uses Material Design principles which greatly differ from one another so be careful if you’re using something else besides one of these two options before deciding which ones would work best with yours because there could potentially be some problems down the road if not done right.”

7. Optimize for local SEO:

Local SEO is a great way to get more traffic to your site and attract new customers.

SEO is important for any business, but it can be especially important for SaaS companies that want to grow their business. If you don’t optimize your site for local SEO, then many users will miss out on seeing what you have to offer because they aren’t in the right location or neighborhood when they’re searching online. They may also think that the products and services aren’t available in their area (which can lead them away from buying), which means less profit for both parties involved!

8. Optimize for featured snippets, or position zero:

Featured snippets are a new feature on the Google search engine that allows users to find key information about your site quickly and easily. They appear at the top of SERPs, just below the organic results for a keyword or phrase. When you optimize for featured snippets, you get more natural search results appearing on top of these organic listings.

9. Use schema markup and structured data to optimize your site’s appearance in SERPs:

You can use schema markup to help search engines understand the content on your site, which will help you get featured snippets and rank higher in mobile SERPs.

Schema is a set of rules that defines how search engines should interpret certain elements on your website. For example, suppose you have a product page with structured data in it (elements like name, price, etc.). In that case, Google will understand that this is an individual product and display it as such when someone searches for “salesforce” or something similar.

Now let’s say that there’s another product called “software” on the same page — but with no structured data attached. This would mean nothing to Google because it doesn’t know what kind of information is supposed to go along with this particular word! That means there’s no way for them to understand what kind of software we’re talking about: whether its social media tools like Facebook Messenger Chatbot or something more technical like Microsoft Word Document Template Maker Pro; neither does it matter if someone else has already used those specific terms before us since they’re not necessarily unique keywords themselves!

10. Hire a Consultant:

There are lots of different things that can help you improve your SEO. You can use tools like SEMRush to find out what your competitors are doing, or even more advanced things like Google Search Console (GSC).

You should also consider hiring a consultant who has expertise in this field. It’s not always easy to know what kind of improvements need to be made, so having someone else look over your site and give advice on how best to proceed will save time and money in the long run!

CONCLUSION

The key takeaway from all of this is that you can’t just sit back and hope your site will rank. You need to constantly work on optimizing your company’s web pages for search engines.
